Teen Athletes

TEEN ATHLETE TRAINING

We work with teen athletes to help keep them at the top of their game. Offering recovery sessions and functional assessments for athletes of all ages, especially teens who are most prone to improper form and overuse. Assessments are done as single visits and include a personalized, functional based exercise plan to incorporate into a specific sport or fitness routine. Recovery sessions can include foam rolling, cupping and myofascial release. All sports-related training is offered, with a focus on those most prone to muscle overuse and fatigue such as soccer, baseball, cross country, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse and football.

SERVICES INCLUDE:

Working with a teen athlete to show how foam rolling is a helpful recovery tool.

Working with Teen athletes to show them the proper way to care for their bodies before and after workouts and games.

  • Therapeutic Exercise Training - Functional exercises prescribed to correct impairments, restore muscular function and postural faults, and/or maintain a state of well being.

  • Deep Stretching - Deliberate lengthening of muscles in order to increase muscle flexibility and joint range of motion.

  • Myofascial Release - Helps relieve pain by releasing the fascia that envelopes the muscles, allowing muscles to move more freely and with less restrictions.

  • Dry Needling - Treats trigger points (hyper-irritable spots within muscles) by decreasing banding or tightness, increasing blood flow, and reducing local and referred pain to break the pain-spasm-pain cycle.

  • Cupping (Myofascial Decompression) - Helps increase blood flow to the muscles and surrounding connective tissues to stimulate and enhance the natural healing process. It is also an effective method of releasing toxins from the tissues.

  • Kinesiotaping - Used to facilitate an underactive muscle or inhibit an overactive muscle to allow for improved muscle function.
